SCATS
To date the SCATS system has transaction over 4.4 million tonnes of forest products which amounts to more then 2 billion dollars of inventory - this is a proven business solution for shipping terminals and warehouses handling high volumes of newsprint and other forest products.
We offer a highly automated system which requires a minimum of hands on user input. The desktop software offers a comprehensive set of tools which allow the manual input of all functions, however, all of the input functions have an EDI counterpart so that for the most part data is not required to be manually input. The real time wireless handheld system offers many of the functions available at the desktop plus a couple of extra ones specifically for warehouse operations.
The general workflow is;
The process starts off be receiving shipping notifications (manifest) which contain all of the stock information.
Delivery orders (call off) are received from the sales office containing order and delivery information.
Pick Lists are generated from the Delivery order (call off) and contain a set of instructions for warehouse operations. i.e. what to collection from the warehouse (and which locations) as well as what to load it onto.
Delivery notes are generated directly from the pick list once it is complete. Documents are printed automatically via the document printing system and EDI messages are despatched to the appropriate parties. Typically the response time for EDI messages is under 5 minutes once the delivery note transaction is completed and received in good time before the good arrive at their destination.
Extra operations occur such as re-stowing and the refurbishment of inventory and these can be handled through the handheld or desktop system.
SCATS offers a comprehensive reporting module; this is accessible from a web browser and supports exporting to popular formats such as PDF, Excel and CSV
SCATS is available in different language versions; English & German but it would be easily possible to translate to Spanish or French.
